That's scary. If they're fake as I suspect, he's getting better.

Fake, Fake, Fake. Notice there is no statement as to originality. The seller claims to know nothing about it.

    Are People Nuts?

Guys buying these humped parts are financing the production of these new repro parts.
Compare to known original weave, snap, finial and keeper......... Clearly FAKE. Geez, the copper or brass looped ring in the snap hasn't had time to tarnish !
Neatest stamped date I've ever seen on fabric.

Here's another one from the new 'Sorce' a Boyt 44........ Fake.
    M1 Carbine C tip sling Boyt-44- - eBay (item 290474215769 end time Sep-17-10 16:00:32 PDT)

Go down this sellers list, See If you can find a real part, abcleigh items - Get great deals on Collectibles items on eBay.com!

These are PRIVATE LISTINGS for a reason. To hide the make, markings and price of the repro item, while the user names are still being disclosed in the feedback.
One guy recently left a Neutral Feedback and was instantly put on the sellers Blocked Bidders List.

I feel any name that shows up more than once on their feedback is knowingly buying Cheaper Repro parts.
    What are their intentions?
I won't dis-grace a piece of history used by the men and women who bravely served and depended on these. It's a slap in the face, all the while planning to have a hand in someone's pocket book down the road. Some poor guy in 10 years or so will be thinking he's bought a 'Original Carbine' or part. Honor these rifles and those who made and used them. Isn't that why we collect and cherish these?

You'd think Ebay would stop this team of sellers but with the money their pulling from them, it's just heading out the back door to finance a run for public office. Last I heard over $125 million in personal funds put towards a campaign for governor.
I apologize for the rant, but I'm worn out from the scamming. I see and hear about losing our older veterans everday .
Is this how the Greatest Generation should be honored?

    Just Sick Of It,
    Charlie

What is stunning is that he can just lie about it and not feel a bit guilty

That is severe mental illness. "Allow 3-4 weeks for shipping" why? not in yet from China?

But Charlie, how many buyers are really doing any research on slings?
How many folks would really recognize a true original high wood stock?

We can't fix it. All we can do is try to spread the word where we can.
The posts on these forums tells me that we're not getting the word out, but we can only legally do so much.
We just have to keep pluggin' along and hope we get the word out to at least a few people who really care.

    Phil
