If you are really, really TRULY lucky, you'll have one similar to pic 3 above, but dated 1937............ A serial number will (?) identify your Bren by nationality but some of our allies, who eventually turned out eventually NOT to be our allies, have been known to have linished the nationality/manufacturers markings out.
The Bren.......... The finest machine gun ever to be put into the hands of a fighting soldier. Given its reliability, simplicity and accuracy a soldier will ask for nothing more. I think it was Abraham Lincoln said that (Only joking............. and apologies to Bob Dylan!)

Once again, we meet the same old obvious block, with a question............. or several questions! Where are you in the world? Is it a runner? Is it a parts kit? Is it ...... and so on and on

Haven't got a clue about Canadian

The UK
legal equivalent would probably sell for around £300-400 at present. Now over to our Canadian
colleagues...

around this part of the woods a decent bren can start at or around 900 all the way to $1500 for something unusual and in mint shape. I have seen some around the 1800+ posting price but they take forever to sell.
heres some pics of Inglis if your interested, INGLIS FACTORY Photo Gallery by mrclark at pbase.com its all basically gone in favour of the ever popular condo theme park.
at least it met a better fate then that of the site where the avro arrow was made. its currenly a muddy field and then in the winter its used to pile snow.
