Is my 45-70 trapdoor original or a Banerman? The S/N 415006 shows it was built in 1888. The sidelock dated 1863. the breach block dated 1873, is a long wrist stock, the barrel bans have a U stamped on them & butt plate has US stamped in it. It also has one of those thick paper liners under the full length of the barrel. I`ved owned this since 1960 & the bore is good & have shot at least 40 factory rounds through it back then. We use to shoot old 2 gal. metal oil cans back then at about 75 yds & it would hit them. By the way, I paid the whopping sum of $10.00 for it.
