M1 D scope mount question

Am completing an M1 icon

D, all USGI just not Army built, and was wondering if anyone has considered lining up the scope with the cross hairsintentionally "off" a bit to compensate for the offset of the scope?

??? Not sure of the intent of your question.

However, when zeroing the rifle via the scope, I just ensure the center of the group averages roughly 1-1 1/2" to the right of the point of aim.

most folks seem to do that , keeps from having to chase your moving impact points.
