Stock correct or not?
I have a 1.924 million Quality Hardware carbine that appears to be all correct. The only thing that bothers me is the stock. It is an i-cut highwood stock with a crossed cannon cartouche on the right-hand side and RMC stamped in the sling well. The cartouche is about 1/2" in diameter.

Do you have a pic? It sounds correct as Qhmc's did use a lot of RMC marked in the sling cut.
I have one or two QHMC's with the RMC only in the sling cut

Big wheel or little wheel?

Could be correct stock Bob. RMC in slingwell of the earlier ones and Q-RMC later.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. I was just wondering if an I-cut stock is too early for this serial number.

It would be correct with an I-cut little wheel stock.

Looking at a fellow collectors album,
I see QHMC 1,927,xxx I cut Hi-wood stock with just RMC stamped in the slingwell. Has the small CC near the oiler slot.
Hand Guard marked Q-RMC, looks to be a Type I.
This one has the front sight normally found on SG carbines with the rounded groove behind the sight blade.
Flip rear sight base marked GE-Q with S on the left side. Fine chisel type staking. No markings on leafs.
Winchester no date barrel with PW in ovaled circle and P proof stamped below that.
Type III RO-Q Recoil Plate.

So, is 1/2" diameter cc considered large or small?

That would be the smaller one that QHMC used.
The large one they used was the largest of all the CC's used by the contractors.
It was quie a bit bigger than Inland's. When you see one you will know it.
