Why don't you try gluing it first. Get a good weatherproof glue, force it in the crack and then clamp it or lacking clamps put it between a couple of heavy objects. The glues today are usually stronger than the wood so it shouldn't crack again.

Hard to imagine a crack caused by temperature change on a Russian
/Soviet designed weapon. Something must be amiss. I agree that if you find the cause of the undue stress and sort it, then an epoxy repair sounds feasible. Very odd. Photos possible?

You are right, something is not right. I'm wondering if it was from installation. No it's not a laminate..wish it was. It was supposed to be. Yes, did the glue thing with air to force into crack. Holding up well. Like I said the gunshow had one with the same crack starting in the same area?

If you still want to replace the stock you can also consider the Tapco T6 stock. It has adjustable LOP and I quite like them.
