I am trying to get some info on a Lee Enfield I purchased last week. Here is everything I found on the rifle.
1916
Enfield
SHTLE
No1 MK III
Numbers on bolt, reciever, sight and nose cap all match. 7441.
All the wood looks like it matches. It is dark and has dings but that is to be expected.
Bore looks good.
Put twenty rounds through it at the range yesterday with no problems. 3-4 inch groups.
I think I found a little gem in this rifle. My fly rods are going to get some competition from here on out.
Any info would be appreciated.

What can you tell me about my rifle?
Here's a link that will help with official markings.
It's a site provided by Amatikulu
