Identify this telescope?

When I got my L42A1, this scope was in the chest. I have replaced it with a Scout Regt telescope, but I would like to know what this one is. It has no broad arrow markings.
Any ideas?

Ah, yes................ I might be wrong as I can't see any other markings but I suspect that is one of the little RAF Air Ministry terlescopes that we'd occasionally find in their No4T chests. I think that they were the RAF contract of a commercial telescope called the 'Brittanic'. There was another similar commercial type too (was it the Titanic....?) The ones we used to see had the initials AM either side of the WD arrow or a little crown logo plus the 9Exxxx type RAF part number. They were x20 magnification too but a narrow FoV (field of view). While they (and the Telescope GP/GS and Admiralty pattern) could be found, I don't think that these assorted scopes made their way into the L42 chest because by then, the CES had been fully codified.

If anyone had a Brittanic, maybe they could compare the sizes/diameters. Quite a neat scope though

I have a number of BC telescopes and they did make a range for the commercial market. They started at the Tourist and went up in size and magnification.
Nick at Scientific Collectibles is well versed on brass telescopes and especially BC Scopes. He is very approachable and will help you.
Put Scientific Collectibles in your search engine and he will come up. I am sorry I had his email address but the laptop blew up and I lost it however his contact details are on his website.
This should help if Peter's reply leaves you with any gaps relative to the commercial market.
I have Ottway and R&J Beck telescopes where the optics quality are slightly better than the BC though there is nothing wrong with the BC one.
