REL No8MkI scope tin
Are the tins serialed, or is the serial number on the tin the serial of the scope?
Either way I appear to have found one of the earliest REL No8 tins...

My scope can has the serial number of the rifle stenciled on it in white paint. A card varnished to the inside of the lid of the can has both the rifle and scope serial number written on it.

I have a number of the REL cans and other than a stencil serial number there are no other rifle markings in or on the cans. I presume you have one of the cans with the attached brass plate.

No plate. Markings are stamped into the lid.

Here are some pic's of my only REL can. I am in the hunt for a standard can for my Mk II REL and a No. 18 for my TP LB sniper if anyone has one they will let go.

Likewise, I am in need of an early scope tin to mate with my early LB T.
