Underwood / Stock question

After looking for a Underwood stock, I found another Underwood carbine and just decided to go for it. Turns out this doesn't have a Underwood stock either! It has a P-J in the sling well which I think reading here was a war time replacement stock, has an Underwood handguard and a stamp SA/SHM on the pistol grip with an ordo wheel. Does this mean it went thorough rebuild or just the stock came out of SA? Would/could this be the "correct" stock? Did all carbines with this stamping go through rebuild?How fast does the earth spin? How many licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Whoa too many questions, sorry, my filter fell off

Hi; From what little I know it sounds like a war time or post war replacement possibly installed during rebuild at Spring field armory. [SA] and I believe [SMH] was the inspector. I hope this helps a little.

The stock is a war time replacement stock. The stock was on a carbine that at one time went through a rebuild at Springfield Armory late 1945 to mid 1947. It is a replacement stock and not one made for Underwood. Any carbine with the SA/SHM stamp was at Springfield Armory for a post war rebuild.
