I personally have been coveting a pre 64 Model 70 Winchester in .270 Winchester for a while now. I also would love to get a Model 52 Winchester .22 lr
I like bolt action rifles of all kinds.

I am with you. My passion is milsurps but I have a deep interest in firearms of all sorts.
The pre war 70s have a great reputation, in fact, before I was of age I always wanted a pre war model 70, in any calibre. What I got was a M96 swede .. and here I am 26 years later !

No no, I've got all kinds. I collected Winchesters, civilian handguns. And have other hunting rifles. I don't hunt anymore, but when I did I had stopped carrying military type rifles for some years. They were way heavier than civvie.

I have a few civvie firearms also. I have and carry everywhere a 1911 Colt model 1908 Vest Pocket Pistol in .25 (almost had to shoot a pit bull tonight while out on our evening walk), I have a 1951 Winchester model 94 30-30, Remington 7400 .270 and Savage 99E in 300 Savage. Just to name a few but I love guns of all makes and models

There are a few exceptions but overall if it goes bang I like it, most of my collection consists of milsurps but i do have a few civilian sporting guns. My favorite is a post 64 model 70HB Varmint in .243, it and I were made the same year- 1968. The one I have always regretted selling the most is a Ruger M77 International Carbine in .250-3000 Savage. I've been looking for another one for years but so far have'nt seen one, in any caliber.

About the only categories I DON'T pay much attention to are modern shotguns and semi-auto hunting rifles (i.e. Remington 742s, BARs) Exceptions? A Winchester 101 28 ga. Quail Special (very nice!) and a .308 Model 100 that I just can't seem to bring myself to sell because everytime I pick it up I like it enough to keep it.

I really enjoy shooting my Winchester Model 1905 (three digit serial number made in 1905) in 35 WSL cal. I make the brass by turning down the rim on 38 special and can almost always find the "hard" cast bullets. Fun to shoot a semi auto made in 1905 !Attachment 25205Attachment 25204Attachment 25203

I saw a 1895 Winchester in 30-40 Krag on Gunbroker last night as well as a 721 Remington in 30-06. the 1895 is one of the few lever guns I like the looks of though they are out of my price range. If I could get the kids to eat less I could buy more guns. Suppose they would go for it?
That is a nice looking rifle RCS. That would make it three semi autos I would like to own and the only civilian model, The other two being a Garand and an M1a.

I think just about anything pre WW2 is interesting and potential fun. Also quite fancy a go at cowboy-action ... it's just the dressing up bit that puts me off.

I've got a 1946-47 model 70 in .270 that I really like.
