A Day Late And A Dollar Short!

Not a dollar short, but a day late. While visiting my usual Enfield sites last night, I came across a 1941 Long Branch for sale, but it was too late to call. I called first thing this morning only to find out it sold yesterday and the check was in the mail.

The pictures were not great, but I have purchased from this dealer in the past and have never been disappointed. Is there a forum member out there that would like to confess to buying the 1941 LB with sling and bayonet for..............$175.00

Congratulations and good find to whomever jumped on it a day before I did. Post pictures when it arrives!!

Typical. I get told that 1941 Long Branches are very uncommon, so I buy one, and now they are coming out of the woodwork. Similar thing happened with my NZicon-marked Long branch - hadn't seen one before, managed to find a nice example, and now I trip over them at every gun forum I go to...sheesh! Then again, one did recently sell on a certain online gun auction website for $961 (someone has more money than sense..).

When the dealer told me it was already sold, my first thought was, "I bet it was that damn spinecracker!"

I'm not that lucky lol. Besides, you've beaten me to the punch before lol.

Did the seller post photos? It would be interesting to see them.
