1903 barrels with sights are getting scarce and more important, good ones are getting expensive.

Paul, if you're not fussy as to date, I have a nice 1918. It has the front sight and rear sight base on it (I can supply a rear sight, if you want). If interested, PM or email me.

This is nothing more than curiosity but, what month is your 1918 (SA?) bbl, Rick?

4-18 with an A underneath the date.

Thanks, Rick. Not to hijack the thread... I've observed (via Vi Shooter's serialization chart & elsewhere) that some dates are found much less frequently than others. i.e. In the final year of the Great War, when production would seem to be steady, SA 5-18 barrels (incl SA 5-18 A) don't appear to have survived in significant numbers when all other months from that year did.

What leads you to believe your barrel is "shot out"?
