Fantasy Carbine
I have an urge to build up a Fantasy M1
carbine "mare's leg " pdw .
I am looking for a reciever to build into such. Is anyone going to be at the December's SAR with an assortment of them ? I'd prefer a darkish re-parked USGI reciever with no pitting and good , deep , sharp lettering as this will be a Form 1 SBR . I would prefer a S.G. or an IP as I don't have either in my collection , but I'd settle for another .
I have enough spare parts to build the rest except for a spare folding stock. I'm thinking a repro GI type as prefered , but do any of you have any experience with the greasegun wire type collapsible stock ?
TIA for any help / opinions. Chris

In Vietnam one of the chopper pilots had a cut down M2 with a pistol grip and wire stock that no one ever deployed. It was a complete piece of crap. Hard to hold, worse to shoot, shot flames out about 2 feet, totally useless on full auto. If I wanted to ruin a carbine.....OK, but I used one and it isn't an improvement in any way shape or form. Not to discourage you....

Naw , this is a fun toy. Already have a barrel , I have a ton of spare parts , so only need a reciever and stock to have a new toy. The stock will not be harmed in any way , and , at worse , I can pick up a bbl and rebarrel the reciever back to a standard length. Flames at night would be a good thing. Matter of fact , I hope it's a flamethrower.

I built a Universal Enforcer once in about '95 or so. Was fun but I couldn't use it for much so I sold it. They are neat though. If F/A then all the better. You might have to open the gas vent just a bit.
