Gun Show Finds Today
#1. M1A1
Carbine, 1943, 'all original', for $3750..................with a Type II band.
#2. M1 Carbine, Inland, 5. 3 mil, looked all correct and original...................except for a Type I band that didn't even fit the carbine - I noticed it because it was sitting about an inch forward on the barrel and the hand guard was loose. I covertly tried to gently push it back to latch, but the nose of the stock was binding it. This was proudly displayed on a rack as though it were a museum piece.
#3. M1911, pretty nice, for $3000.........................with no US Property mark.
#4. M1911, around the 1915 serial number, looked original but no finish remaining, $2000 marked down from $2500. Possibly could have been a Navy or USMC which might justify the price, but it was in a closed glass case and I had trouble even seeing the serial number in the dark gun show lighting.
Be careful out there - these guys are desperate and trolling hard for suckers.
