    Fixing a No. 4 Mk 1 (counter-bubba)

The photos show what I have. My problem is that I'm having a nasty time getting that front band on. Suggestions? I've tried pulling it into position with clamps of various types but just can't quite get it close enough for the screw to catch. The parts are either NOS or just new'ish. As you can see, the barrel was shortened, or something.

Also, someone suggested I might need to check if I have the thing bedded properly in the new forearm. The old/original one was sporterized who knows how long ago. How do I know if its bedded properly and if its not, how do I make sure that it is?

Thanks for any and all information on the above and any further information useful or otherwise.

    George

(edit) Also, what can be learned from the SN?
