    Ithaca Handguard

    I came across this one. Opinions needed?

    At first blush it may be totally real. The screws do not go into the barrel channel, which is correct for a WWII adapter. There are casting marks on the unpolished areas, which is also correct. I don't know about the swirlies on the front of the lug, but that one looks damn good.
    BTW, the repro I adapters being made by the one guy have the screws going thru the barrel channel, so they are not made right.

    Look closely at the welds that join the hand guard to the bayonet lug. Are they teardrop shaped? If they are, it's the real thing. I looked at one in Las Vegas last week that was totally correct.

    If the one you saw was at the RIVERIA GUN SHOW, then you were looking at the one pictured as I had it at the show. Table it was on was down back at the end of the second row., 2nd section in.
