The sentry is with overcoat and winter style rubber boots, two kids barefoot...hmm.

Times were really tough in post-depression Ireland. Shoes were for school and Mass on Sunday for a lot of kids including some of my not to distant cousins.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the same bloke in all the pictures?
He looks familiar. Wasn't he a Hollywood actor before or after the war - late 1930s to the early 1950s?
