Hi Kenny ...
I'd go to the Imperial War Museums (click here) in London for sure ...
I'm going myself in September ..

Doug

Doug,
Thanks for the input, I'll look it up for sure. I assume you moved the thread? I also assume now yours will be the only response and most people (to include all my garand collector friends) never look at this section...
Thanks I think...

No, moved threads usually leave a trailing link for a month in the originating forum, that everyone there sees, so it's effectively the same as double posting ...

You'll probably get more responses here. National Army Museum is another one. It's smaller than IWM but nice. nam.ac.uk

This is a vast topic, but much depends on your interests. The Imperial War Museum covers 1914+. The National Army Museum (also in London) covers everything prior to 1914. Chelsea Hospital,
next door, is also well worth a visit.
If you want a regimental museum, go to Winchester. The R. Hampshires, the Gurkhas, the King's R. Hussars, and, above all,
the R. Green Jackets are all there. If God made military museums,
the R. Green Jackets museum is exactly what he would have created.

Hi,
Why not try contacting Peter Laidler
to see if it's possible to arrange a visit to the "Weapons Collection" at Warminster.
Cheers,
Simon.

I would recommend:
National Army Museum
IWM Duxford
Bovington Tank Museum
RAF Hendon
IWM Belfast
I would strongly recommend you to avoid IWM London!! Unless you have absolutely no notion of the history of armed conflicts you are bound to be utterly disappointed!

Go see the historic Portsmouth Dock and HMS Victory. There are other museums in the area within walking distance. We took a ferry to Ouistreham France
to follow the D-Day invasion route to visit Normandy.
