NRA Sales Rifle?
Is there some recent research regarding NRA Sales 1903s? Years ago I was told that my rifle is likely an unmarked NRA Sales rifle. It is exceptionally nice seeing little use. This is the configuration:
SN 461350
Barrel date 5/11
Straight bolt marked “J 1” on bottom of lug
TE = 0.0
MW = 0.0

If you can post some detailed pictures, that would help determine whether this is so - or not.

Here are some pics I have on hand.

It sure looks like one because of the nice condition. It's not listed in the SRS data ( CD version ). I have one in the same serial number range, but lesser condition that I believe to be an NRA sales rifle.

Whatever it may be, the P proof has been just recently repunched into the wood. You can clearly see the original P very faint.

Looks more like the die bounced causing a double strike of the P proof

Taker a closer look, there's also "13" marked in front of the proof which is nearly sanded off and a much darker colour. I've attached pictures of my closeby M1903 (S/N 413.XXX) to show where the number in front of the proof is placed.
