Got my scope mounted -

It came pout pretty good I think. It is an aftermarket mount but it set up easily on the rifle and the scope is an old Weaver that I modified to have external adjustments. I also noticed that even though someone had carved up the stock there are two holes where the old cheek piece apparently mounted. One of these days I'll find a cheek piece and mount it up.

If you won´t find a cheak piece, there are some blueprints at the Knowledge Forum to make one yourself. It worked good for me. BTW, the rifle looks good!

I had a Bushnell scope that was broken a few years ago. I took the turrets off of it and remachined them to fit the Weaver. It wasn't too hard to do - just took a little lathe work. It actually took more fitting for the windage side to clear the scope mount itself.

To be honest Norton, the cheek piece is the least of your worries because with that telescope mounted that far to the rear, it's your right eye that's going to get it first. There is insufficient eye relief and when it recoils, you're going to get it. But you'll only get it once!

Peter's got a point. The No4 T scope sits about 3/4 inch to the rear of the striker knob, when the gun is not cocked. If your neat looking turrets were in front of the front arm it should be positioned about like a T, awesome.

The eye relief for correct head positioning on the stock would crack my skull. But to get the correct sight picture through the lens my head sits too far back on the stock. But good point as I would probably have discovered! I'll reposition for a more aesthetic appearance and comfort on my end of things - Thanks as always for the heads up, so's to speak!

Thanks for the link also - I ordered the mount from them but my fun tickets were out when I ordered. I just received some funds yesterday on a sale so am now able to order the cheekpiece.

Isn't it AMAZING that the no32 scope was designed for the BREN machine gun? Only in England could that happen. I'm going back and fourth between installing a cheek piece myself. Not to make it something it's not. But they function well. Anyone make an Australian cheek piece? They look different. Mine is a no1 mk3*

I would also like a sling swivel trigger guard screw. Can't find one.

I think the ones GPC has are the Australian type. You can get a perfect beech No.4T type from EFD in England.
