Supposedly they were a universal muzzle cover, but I have had some that would not go over the M1
Rifle muzzle. Perhaps a slight difference in how they were sewn.
A problem I did have with them was rust forming on the muzzle of rifles I had them on. All were U.S. issue, and I can think of no reason for the rust. Check periodically if you leave the muzzle covers on.

Exactly, Johnny Peppers, the muzzle cover is one of those items I bought and also mine is not fitting properly over my M1
Garand barrel.

I never leave it over the muzzle, I just fitted it the time necessary to shoot the photo.

Mine doesn't fit my rifle very well either. So I use it on my carbine.Attachment 33190

I see.
I guess the strip is too short for M1
Garand, I can't use the popper.
