I-cut Win with no cartouches.

This Win stock and deep/wide channel hand guard were a pair and the stock has had the cartouches sanded off, but it's got all the Winchester attributes. Wondering what the value is on this item and if I did okay. There are heavy type II band marks and a little cracking shown at the tip. Otherwise, a solid stock that has Win metal (later recoil plate). No repairs. No rebuild stamps. Opinions on value? I'm not pricing to sell. I'm just curious what retail is to justify what I have in it? Thanks for any help.

(IBM stocks always look similar to me), then it is not uncommon for the W to be missing in the slingwell.

Possible it was never stamped to begin with. Every book I have states that the earliest WRA Type I's could be found unmarked.

IMHO,
In curent state stock and HG could still sell for $300+

Small router bit cutting in the slide channel and number stamped on the inner right rail is common trait to a WRA stock.
Raised area over the Escutheon nut and angle cut at the frt edge of slingwell also common to WRA stocks.

Feel along the right side and left side of the stock just forward of the inner wood bridge. If it hasn't been sanded away, you'll feel a divet in the wood in this area. You'll also feel a divit on the bottom forward of the frt of the trigger housing inlet.

A picture of the milling style under that HG can show if it was made by WRA also.

1014232 has an unmarked stock along with several unmarked internal parts

Here is 1013812 no cartouches anyware. There is a number stamp in the bridge. Would have to get it out. If you need a pic of the stamp let me know.
Only 420 away from David's. Made the same Day? Got to like the blued bolts and dated barrels.

This one is marked 162 on the bridge and C on the right internal flat of the receiver area. Additionally the unmarked parts include the bolt, extractor, hammer, trigger, and sear.

Some really good information in NL #337. Shows the last number that was applied each day at Winchester.

As BQ points out however, these are the dates the numbers were applied to receivers, not the dates of completion, which could add another 30-45 days.

The last number applied on December 17. 1942 was 1013732
The last number applied on December 18, 1942 was 1014251
