M1A1 on GB. This is a reproduction?
I thought only USGI butt plates had the cast in numbering?

I don't know much about Folders, but might it be possible that the wire or maybe just the Butt plate would be USGI?
Butt plate possibly a NOS used on this?

Impossible to tell from the pictures furnished.

More specifically, the butt plate has a cast in number shown. Am I to understand that Italians made butt plates just like those of USGI with the star and number?

You can send the Italian
folding stocks to guys that will "enhance" it to look more original. I know they change the contour of the wood on the left side, replace the rivets, add "aged" looking leather, and also acceptance stamps, etc. I don't know if they are changing the buttplates, but it's possible. I don't think the one on GB has the Italian handguard. - Bob

Here is a real position #1 butt plate to compare.

In the number, don't the 4, 7 and the 1 look identical?

The casting position number doesn't appear to be straight. Maybe it's my screen.

Does the one in question have raised numbering, I thought the numbering should be indented.GK
