My Mosin-Nagant has a baby brother
The rifle on the bottom is a Polish WZ-48. It is a .22LR single shot training rifle that they used to train new troops. I will try it out this weekend.
The top rifle is a 1938 vintage Tula Mosin-Nagant.

That's interesting. Is it a Mosin Nagant action or just made to look like one? I can't see a safety knob on the back end.

It is my understanding that the Polish took another trainer and made it look like a Mosin Nagant. The action is nothing like a Mosin Nagant except for the similarity of the bolt and stock, both scaled down. When I get some time, I will take photos with both bolts open.

Be sure to wear safety glasses whilst shooting! That big extractor seems to let the heads of the .22 rf case split open quite readily, spitting hot powder and other small debris from the breech. Stndard velocity rounds seem a bit better, but they split too. Not every time, but often enough to warrant caution. Otherwise, they're pretty good.

I went to visit my brother and nephew last weekend in Southern Mississippi. We all shot the WZ-48. I found it fun to shoot and it shot to minute of beer can out to 50 yards. We had an empty freon bottle that we shot at with .22LR, 7.62X25, .357 Mag, 45 Colt, and .45 ACP. It was well perforated by the time we finished. We took it home to be sold as scrap.
A fun and sweaty time was had by all.
Then we returned to my brother's house and grilled steaks.
On Sunday we went to the Kenner, LA show.
A perfect way to spend the weekend
