I can't answer your question but I can tell you that your English is excellent!
Take care,

. I own a 7.62 m1 garand and i'm following NRA article about Garand accurizing. I ordered the fixture to maintain the barrel centered while epoxy is curing plus the horsehoe rod for tensioning trigger guard& safety. I suspect 30.06 and 7.62 stocks are quite different: what is the correct distance between stock front ferrule and barrel for 7.62 garand? I hope you understand what i mean. Apologize my poor english.
Thank you

Your english is better than mine. I have'nt done any accurizing but I have both a 7.62 that was shortened 1/2" & a 30-06 the only difference I can see is the length of the stock, rear handguard, barrel & op rod on 7.62 is 1/2" shorter. If you have a 7.62 that was'nt shortened it should be same as 30-06 I think. I'm new to working on my Garands also.

Very interesting!! If my stock was shortened, probably barrel centering tool is a bit too high..

I don't know nobody else was answering so I looked at mine. Lower band is on same spot on barrel & stock ferrule is same so I think they are probably the same. My book says stock ferrule shall not contact lower portion of lower band. There shall be approx 1/64 min clearance. If I was going to glass bed myself I would want to practice with a beater stock first although I have done bolt actions that turned out fine. The Garand
looks like it would be easier to mess up to me. I'll probably try it myself some day just because I like to learn to do this kind of stuff.

If you show pictures of your Garand
somebody should be able to tell if it is a shortened one or not. If not the rear handguard on my 7.62 shortened garand is a hair under 9". The 30-06 is a hair under 9 1/2". Sorry I'm not much help on accurizing. I have two 7.62 Garands I put together both shoot really well.
