Range Report Unmessed with Inland
Decided to take the Inland to work with me today to do a function check and see where the fixed sights were set. By the time I got up the hill to a spot in the mountains where I could shoot, it was dusk (in fact within 20 minutes of shooting it was black!) Put up the targets at 25 measured yards, and leaned across the hood of the patrol Jeep ( a nice 4 door Wrangler) for a casual rest.
Shot the Remington 110 JSPs group first, and was pleasantly surprised, with two shots in one hole. Then I did a 5 shot group of Remington 110 FMJs, and was equally pleased. The FMJ group was a little bigger, but it was seriously getting dark by then, so I am happy. Talk about the fixed sights being where they should be. It would be nice to see what I could do in daylight conditions from a real rest.
I shot one 30 round magazine of the FMJs, shooting off hand at 30-40 yards "bouncing the can" in low light conditions, to see if it liked the 30 rounders. It did. Zero malfunctions, though I put a late model M2 mag catch on. I will also put a flip safety on, as it is better for my purposes getting in and dismounting a vehicle. DANG I love these little carbines! I shot it so much more naturally than an AR!

I haven't shot my latest "fixed sights" Inland yet. I hope it does that well. Do you shoot it with the mag pouch in place? I tried my IBM with a mag pouch on it and it just didn't work for me - had to take it off because it was against my face and just didn't feel comfortable at all. I love those carbines too! - Bob

Yep, I leave the pouch in place. I have shoot carbines for so many years with the pouch on the stock, it feels wrong if I don't have it on there. Who ever regulated the sights at Inland did a good job. I found Remington 110 FMJ shoots to same POA as Lake City.

I have two Vietnam era "J" Jahn 30s loaded with FMJs in a rigger double pouch on the seat of the jeep, and the three USGI 15s loaded with JSP Remingtons in the weapon and the type I pouch. 105 rounds is a lot of ammo. The 110 JSP is the same ammo that I killed the 200 pound deer with at just shy of 100 yards.

Why not have four 30 round mags in a pouch? If you run into some drug growers you may need it.

True. I do have two of the 4 pack M2 carbine pouches, and nine or ten 30 rounders. I thought of putting a shoulder strap through the belt loops on it, like I did when I carried it as a LEO trunk weapon. When I carry the AR I have four 30 rounders in a should bag, and a 20 in the weapon.

SAWEEEET!! Good shootin!!
What is weird is for some reason I can't see the safety at all in that pic. It's like it's gone and nothing is there. Weird.

It's a push buttom and is the same color and fitting flush. I put a flip safety on it for use on patrol. Too easy to bump the push safety off, and push the mag catch instead. I did that during the range session.

Aaaaah, I was looking for the flip safety in this pic, which would've been more evident.
Either way, it is pretty impressive that it shoots so straight right from the get go. Gotta love it.
