    1903/a3 stock question

    A neighbor of mine cleaned out an attic in their family...gave a me a really dirty stock....cleaned up...going to.oil it etc...looks like its been sitting there for years with the dust and crud when I got it....saw this stamp....think its real?



    It also had a large c in the barrel channel and a c in the cut off recess

    Had all the hardware too.....rusty but it might clean up

    I have been reading through brophys book and to.me the stamp looks real comparatively speaking....but I cannot figure out the c marking...it also.does not have any proof marks or.final.inspector stamp...so.I am guessing it was never mounted on a rifle...all this is assumption of course on my part as a novice.

    Also the top.end.piece of wood with it....looks like my a3 wood and not the wood on my Ria 03.....

    I have a 3.8 m RA that the stock is kinda rough been sanded etc.... this stock is pristine....would it be correct for.this.rifle? I would.like to.swap them...

    Any help.is appreciated

    Your stamp looks OK to me, but to be sure it would be nice to see several photos of the stock, entirely.

    Check the screw holes for threads, I thought stocks were only marked with the final inspector stamp after the completed unit was inspected. Also, the trigger guard channel is where there should be definite sign, hard not to leave sign there after an assembly.

    So do you think it would be suitable to re-stock a 3.8m RA with this stock....just curious as to your thought if it could be considered correct.... The stock on it now was sanded...refinished etc...also has a crack in it...... thanks for all the thoughts....!

    i went to a pawn shop and found a 1903a3 for sale for $620 and it was in great condition is this a good price or need more info ?
