What does the heat stamp ZA176 mean on a M1917A1 mean?

I recently purchased a M1917A1 "Kelly" helmet with the heat stamp ZA176 on the inner brim.
Does anyone know what that means?

I'm not an expert at these things but, I once read that the "Z" usually denotes that it is American made. I don't know about the numbers.
