New Guy, New Gun
Hey everyone, I'm the new guy on the forum and am hoping to learn much from you guys. I have just acquired an Inland Carbine with a five digit serial number. To be honest I really don't know what I have, but I doubt that it is of any exceptional value. I am hoping to disassemble it, photograph the parts, post some pics, and ask for input. Here's the first .... uh.. that is if I can figure out how to add a pic.

Cool looks great. Look forward to seeing some more photos. I have a 1943 inland that doesn't look that good.

Welcome Oddball, with a name like that you will fit in nicely around here.
If it's five digit with the features shown, it has been through at least one rebuild. Seeing it broken down with close up pictures will give more information. One thing we like is pictures.
Using the search feature and sticky section should provide some information. We'll all pipe in when we see your pictures.
Again, welcome aboard.

And another one bites the dust! There is no cure....only periodic treatments.....
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Your updated rebuild is also in a late revised stock, and it has a non-Inland trigger housing. If your barrel is good, you'll have a good shooter there. If the barrel is also the original one for that serial number, it may be tempting to consider restoring it to original configuration. You could probably do that including the refinish for about $1.5K

The "potbelly" stock it is in and the type III barrel band with bayonet lug actually make it a better shooter than the earlier stocks and Type I band with no lug. I have one "original" Inland and a Standard Products mix-master with a potbelly lie yours. The standard Products is definitely my "shooter" go to weapon

Yes, they were not called 'upgrades' for nothing. If I had an original early carbine, there would be no shooting of it. I don't even shoot my rebuild anymore. Well, I might shoot a mag a year just to experience the carbine, but it does not figure into any tactical strategies of mine. I'm just trying to preserve it now.
