    Photos of SMLE wood repairs

I'm looking at photos of SMLE wood that has been repaired, especially butts, upper and lower handguard tabs that have been replaced and the mag cut off side of fore ends. I bought a really well used set of wood for a prized SMLE sporter of mine for a restoration and I'd like to repair this set as best I can, for the fun of it more or less.

It has a heel repair on the butt but the toe is missing a bunch of material as well so it needs to be patched. The upper handguard is missing both tabs, and the fore end has a crack running from the mag cut off slot forward. I'd like to make similar repairs to what would have been done in service to keep the restoration looking good while utilizing this woodset which has tons of character.

    Thanks!
