C1 silencer
Attachment 42136
Found the picture above on the net, but no more info. Anyone have any details on the silencer, how it attached, etc?

I can't help with how it attaches but I'm guessing that is on a Sterling .It sure looks big enough to handle the hi rate of fire... Looks like an oil filter!!!

I'm surprised that Peter Laidler
hasn't weighed in yet. He must have more than an inkling about this very item...also, I used submachine gun C1 for many years and can assure you it ain't ours. It may attach to the bayonet lugs of an L2A3 or something.

Mmmmmmm. Not an official silencer from the Canadian
Military as Casnada purchased 'a quantity' of L34 truly silenced Sterling SMG's from the UK
Military.
Quite how the 'silencer' shown (probably a moderator in fact) overcame the fact that the supersonic bullet had to pass through a gap at the end of the barrel before it even enters the main 'silencer' part is a bit of a mystery to me. That would already defeat the .............. anyway........
Oh, yes......... How is he aiming the SMG with the silencer in the way.
Just my 2c's worth

Looks like a posed shot with his strap obliterating his sights as highlighted by Peter, but could be a Rhodesian homemade version!!

Looks like something out of a movie.

It's definately a Canadian Sterling SMG and Canada
wasn't permitted to sell outside its own Armed Forces so that would/might (?) eliminate the Rhodesia thread. The question still remains of just how would he aim it?

This seems to be from whence the image originated on the internets.
http://www.bevfitchett.com/modern-fi...silencers.html
The photo seems to be pulled from a book or similar.
ETA: Apparently from the book: Modern Firearm Silencers by J. David Truby
From viewing the book copy online (pgs 79-80) it is supposedly a terrorist trainee using an improvised suppressor. Curiously, the next page supposedly shows the author with the sema weapon somewhere n the "MidEast".
I'm done. Y'all waste time with it.

It's not too bad if you've got an hour or so to blow up! I couldn't do it the easy way...
