I see War baby shows 10084 stocks sent to Inland from Rock Ola, In Oct 1943. So time line looks close anyway. I have seen a picture however, of stock marked RMC with an I in the sling well. There is a good carbine club newsletter on this range, #353.

My Inland is very close to yours and it has the Type V slide. It is correct as they started to be used 10/43. Sight sounds correct also.

Now that you mention it, there does appear to be a letter "I" in the sling well. The RMC is positioned horizontally and centered. The "I" is also horizontal and below the RMC at the bottom edge.

BTW, mine is Serial No. 3,002,830, about 30,000 before yours, and is identical, including barrel 11-43, except stock is OI, Overton for Inland.

Just a comment on the Type V slides - if it has a part number 7160091 on the bottom it is a later one. At least that's what I have gathered - the original Type V slides on Inlands before 5.0 mil did not have the part number. Anyone chime in if this is not right. Thanks.
