Sparkbrook - BSA - Queensland Police
Gents I have a 1906 SMLE (No1) Mk1* it is stamped BSA Co. - Sparkbrook. According to Skennerton
, there were no rifles manufactured at Sparkbrook that year (he says although some are known to exist) as it was being taken over by BSA. Now I suppose I have two questions, what is the rarity of a 1906 Sparkbrook, and were all the Queensland Police Mk1* contracted rifles delivered in 1907 from Sparkbrook?

I don't think so.
My Mk 1*has a QG P 1907 date, and is marked BSA Co (not Sparkbrook)

BSA-Sparkie's are a rare girl, especially if they have not been upgraded to a later version. My example also is a Q/|\P marked girl.

Lance mine is Q^P 48, interesting that yours is quite a long way off that number...and still an '06 Sparkie, makes me wonder how the numbering process worked.
