Best ammo for Springfield 1903?
Hey recently won a 1903 Springfield on gun broker. Now i am just wondering what is the best 30-06 ammo for these guys? I had got a box of cheap Remington Core Lokt at a local store and will try that out but is there any that is normally recommended for 1903? I know i heard 1903's pretty much take any ammo but was just curious...

Yes, the Springfield (I'm assuming your '03 is a high number?) will pretty much handle any "store-bought" ammo and a whole host of reloads, if in the parameters suggested by the reloading guides.

The rear sight is calibrated for a 150 grain bullet traveling at 2700 feet per second.

Good to know Fred, thanks! But now is that for any rear sight or just for a certain rear sight, because mine has the ladder sight....

The "ladder" (M1905) rear sight.

Hello,
I couldn't find convincing answers to this questions. I ask therefore despite the age of this thread.
What is the accuracy of the M 1903 with a heavy load of f.e. 200 grs Sierra Mk-Handloads ? At 100, 300, 600 yds.
And what is the accuracy of this rifle with the M72 National Match Ammo ?
Many thanks.

You've basically just asked "I have different grades of gas for my car, what is the exact mileage for my vehicle".
The only way your going to find out for your specific rifle is to test it yourself.
