This one is my cleaning kit, also from Finland
(Esa?). Took about 4 weeks to cross the Atlantic.

The little tool must have gotten lost, what is it for?

The little tool makes a handle for the cleaning rod, Mosin kits contain them also.
Is that nylon brush WW2 vintage Aragorn?

It is said to be of WWII vintage. I don't have a lot of information on them so I don't know. As it looks unused, it's probably a post war replacement.

Those cleaning kits are sharp...I like having the accessories for my collection too. Where did you guys find them? Beautiful grain on that stock Crossed Cannons!

I think both kits are missing a bore guide also, family member borrowed the camera so can't show a picture but it's basically a thimble with a hole in it. I'm only basing this on the fact Russian
kits have one the Finns may not.
Yes!! That wood grain is gorgeous.

There are no "set" kits with the Finns from what I've read. The bore guide for one rifle won't fit another type so it has to be type specific unlike the Soviets who all had 91/30's. I already have a bunch of the bore guides for 91/30's so I'll stick one in it. The Finn bore guide for the M39 is a pretty fancy little thing, brass and steel. I don't have an M39 yet so I'm holding off on getting one, they aren't cheap.

The kit arrived two days ago. Surprisingly fast. As the photos from the auction pretty much cover it, I don't plan on posting more. The cleaning brush is "new" and is nylon so is probably a post war replacement. The seller had everything packaged very nicely in little plastic bags giving me the impression he is selling in bulk but the cans I received are the ones in the photos. All the dings and scrapes match. The bag is partially divided so the cleaning rods, etc fit in a small section. The cans fit in the other side. It is a very soft fabric but does not smell of oil or have that musty smell typical of surplus stuff. Very clean.
