No. 4 Mk.1 (T) Experimental web sling DD (E) 3543 need information please.

I recently purchased 'An Armourer's Perspective' by Peter Laidler with Ian Skennerton, on page 42 is a very interesting article detailing an experimental web sling for a Mk.4 No. 1 (T). Even though I have the original leather sling for the rifle I'm intrigued by the adjustable web sling and I would like to purchase one, although I assume it would be very difficult to locate one.

If I can't find an original web sling I thought it might be possible to build one using an original Bren Gun sling, but I need to purchase some original brass parts, namely a brass slider and a brass link to join the short length sling to the long one. If anyone could supply these parts or know of a source where I could by them I would be very grateful.

I hope it's ok to post the images from the book as I thought they might be useful for illustration purposes , if there is any objections I will of course remove the images immediately.

The original Bren sling was quite popular with the snipers in it's original configuration.

I saw a few of these in an old store cupboard, taken off the shooting team rifles prior to the issued of L1A1's. The brasswork looked just like any other old wartime webbing brasswork with the loops looking like they were simply '37 pattern ammo pouch double loop top buckles. Maybe slightly modified to suit. But they were nothing special

I was always fascinated by these pictures and thought I would try and build something along the lines shown. I did at one time talk with someone in NZ who had a spare but we could never settle on terms. A club near me used to have a walk and hunt course and after using the issue L42 nylon sling that left me with raw skin I went to a very used and soft web sling. Some place I must still have a bag with all the '37 pattern brass I collected from bits of gear accumulated at shows. Doesn't seem worth the time and energy today. I wouldn't turn down an original in any event.
