1944 Izhevsk M38 info.
Just left my local LGS, and they have a 1944 Izzy M38 for sale. It has been around the block, lemme tell you, but appears shootable. NO finish left. No import mark either. Thing that struck me is, is that it appears to be in a pre war type stock ( screwed in escutcheons ) Would this be a pre war 91/30 stock cut for the M38? Have always seen them with war time or post war stocks. It can be mine for $160. Should I jump on this?

buy it. early/pre war stock and 1944 is not a common year for the M38.

You could buy two bricks of .22 LR instead.

Yes it is. A functional milsurp at $160 why not.

I'm definitely going back for it tomorrow. Figured the early stock is reason enough to.
