Looks good to me but I am just learning the 03-A3 myself, take a look at the sticky Remington 1903A3 (displaying original configuration and finish)

Photographs are not always a good indicator of what the actual finish looks like. That photo is overexposed, probably making the receiver color lighter than it actually is. All the other parts appear correct, so I would say there is a good chance it is correct.

Thanks, I'm a little worried about the brown appearance. I'll probably see it in person before I buy. My Smith Corona needs a friend.

It look OK to me but it's been sanded. Regards, Rick.

That is for sure. Look at the difference of the color of the Parkerizing on the same rifle taken in different light.

Looks like the top pic was taken with a flash and the other one in natural light. Regards, Rick.

Yes, you are correct. I should have noted "with and without flash". The flash sure misrepresents the finish of the receiver.

I am totally confused. Karl asked for opinions on his rifle.....that's the original post. I said it looked OK but looked like it was sanded as the OC cartouche is nearly obliterated. Then another A3 pops up that says it's the same gun with perfect cartouches and finish. That gun is not Karl's original but one one that Joe picked out from a sticky.
Karl, if you could post some clear pictures of the FJA and OC cartouches we could make a better evaluation. It should also have 4 inspector initials, one in a diamond and a circle P. Regards, Rick.
