Canadian WW1 Naval lee Enfield
Hi there,
I have no clue on this one, It was given to me by a friend, and I've restored it, photo's will follow. The rifle is in decent shape now, it's clearly C-> N and CRN marked on the receiver, barrel and butt, no ship.
It's a No1 Mk3* BSA of 1918, with a nice brown patina mostly. Shootable, but the barrel is a little worn. It's in a nice dark walnut with an original white sling.
Quite sharp in appearance, only looking for comments, it's not for sale, sorry. Thanks for any responses, I've never seen a WW1 Naval one before, but I'm sheltered.

I've since removed the varathane finish on the grips. This one seems to have "been around" somewhat.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for responding, I'm having some problems with the photo's at present, But I will get some up this week. The markings I have on my rifle are the same Naval Markings as on your Bayonet. I figure these must be fairly scarce now, I haven't seen any others. I'm sure they must have been made and stamped in sufficient quantities for Canada
's navy then. I wonder how many have survived, my I.D. disc was missing so no idea on further identity. I wondered if they went thru both wars or just the one. Thanks for pic's of your Bayonet, that's the first one of those I've seen too, nice old bayonet.

So this is it, I cannot get the butt markings to so up, but they say the same as those on the re-inforce and receiver. The stock in the picture is a Indian re-worked temp replacement, until I get the original repaired. I guess nothing special about the rifle but the markings are neat to me. Shame the disc was missing when I got it, so no way to track where it was. I would appreciate any input, thank you very much for looking.

a few photo's more of my RCN Enfield.
My apologies about the size, but everything is shrinking for me these days. I tried uploading them before I was paid up, and they were rejected as being too large, so I joined only fair, as I use this site enough. Still to large so I'm a little lost. I'm reading all the instructions now, to see what I'm missing.
Apart from that, is there any further point in posting more pic's, the rifle is what it is, I have no idea of surviving or issued numbers. I haven't seen any before, so not that common, but what constitutes not common, the bayonet that was shown is certainly a nice piece, suitable for this rifle.
However I can no longer get to lots of gun shows, so I'm really depending on this forum for advice, I'm not interested in monetary values, just information, if there are fewer of these's, than the majority of this otherwise fairly common rifle.
I have no idea, how many of these were issued to the navy at the time, and as I'm not millitary myself, I'm clueless, but it would be nice for me, If I could tell the person who dug it out and gave it to me, that they saved a fairly scarce survivor from the chop saw.
If you feel larger pic's would be helpful and I'm missing something, I will do my best to comply, thanks for your interest.
