    Carbine SN 1205

I received my bolt tool on friday and my son and I disassembled the bolt Sunday evening. Ive posted pics in a separate album. imgur.com/a/kKGcJ .I only found markings on the extractor ( 2 defined punch marks on the inside bottom one over top of the other about 1/16 of an inch apart top one a little right of the other. Firing pin had 1 defined punch mark on the left side on the tang centered from left and right towards the top . If you guys would take a look and give me your feed back.

    Thank You!!

    Tom

PS For any of you that don't have it the other photo album is at imgur.com/a/vJA1Y

Nice and all early too! Long stem and full cone shape. Sweet! This carbine of yours is the best example I've seen of an original, unmolested Inland. Congratulations on a sweet find.

Bill, I'm having a hard time with the bolt pictures. Is that a Type 1 or Type 2? Thanks! - Bob

Bruce did you see the punch marks ,the one one the left side on the tang. And the two on the extractor on the inside bottom.Gunny says they are hardness test mark . I NOTED THEM ON OTHER PARTS OF THE RIFLE . WHAT DO YOU THINK.

    THANKS TOM

Yes they are from the parts being tested for hardness but when on the receiver or bolt its from proofing. Oh and your H in a shield hammer is a rare one. Only used on the very early Inland carbines.
