Markings on Inland receiver
I'm new to M1
Carbines and looking at purchasing an Inland GM with the barrel stamped 6-44. On the right side of the receiver below the sight, there's an eleven letter/number stamping that I've not seen on any others. Anyone have any idea what this is? Appreciate any feedback.

May be an import stamp. I've seen them there and they are stamped rather lightly. What are the numbers/letters? May be a Bavarian police carbine. Not sure the designation for them.

Bill, appreciate the reply. The photo quality is poor but here is what can make out: CFCC 00 9A000 The characters are very uniform, straight, and deeply engraved. Thanks again for your help.

Could also be some agency that had it and applied their own number to it. Please post pictures if you are able.

Definitely not an import marking; that must be the name, city, & state of the importer.
Sometimes the importer marking is below the wood line on the receiver; have you removed the action from the stock?

Import mark. A couple of minor variations were used, it appears. Previously discussed here:
