Need poor condition SMLE barrel
Hi folks,
I am looking for a beat up, crappy, non-restorable, non-shooting SMLE barrel that I can use for a display/instructional project. It doesn't need a good crown or any sights (you can keep the front sight if you wish)---it just needs to be at least 16 inches long.
I hope someone can help me out. I will pay whatever is reasonable. Please send me a PM.
Thanks!
JC

I had hundreds but they are all sold and slated for return to England
for use in building deacts by Terry Abrams. He visited here for the fist time in October.

"beat up, crappy, non-restorable, non-shooting SMLE barrel".............
That's about the only sort that is left out there.
I have a few; they are handy for swapping into rifles with "good" barrels, that are destined for "de-activation". The steel is excellent for making bushings, odd washers, etc. However, I doubt that shipping to California from Oz is an economic proposition for anybody but the "revenooers" and the shipping companies.

BinO is dead right. The material is superb bearing in mind its age and cuts as smooth as butter. Makes cutting on a lathe pleasurable!
