We had the GCA
convention there a few years back.
One speaker was an 82nd abn path finder.
Only one in his battallion to get his Rebecca/Eureka transponding radar operational.
Lots of odd ball stuff like a garand with a johnson mag.
The upstairs walk through was excellent.
I foget the fellow's name in the picture - He was retiring that same year.

I wonder how many functional Jap M1s there are? SA, Aberdeen...can't imagine many in civilian hands. (Private hands)

That's John McCabe, a great friend to GCA
and all collectors. He served at SA for over 30 years in many capacities, including head of security, and knew more about the collection than anybody up there. He was a prickly guy and was not well treated by the transient staff, but I loved him. The rifle looks like a Jap Type 5.
Real men measure once and cut.
