Gun show 1950 Longbranch
I picked up this No.4 today for $225. It had a broken rear flip sight. I had a No.4 Savage with an F adjustable rear sight that I had a S flip rear sight for so I moved the adjustable sight to the Longbranch and put the correct S sight on the Savage. Bore looks excellent and it passes the field headspace gauge. It has an import mark but I've wanted a Longbranch for a while and couldn't resist the price. There were a lot of tables with pretty good prices, a few were crazy high.

Great rifle, sure was a good deal.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I got excited when I noticed the last four digits were only four numbers apart from my rifle!. Checked the serial number, its a 91L. Nice rifle.

Very nice rifle
. I picked up my 1950 93L series rifle a couple of years ago for $275. It also has a small import mark but it is one of my favorite shooters (aside from my 1942 0L series Long Branch). I haven't bought another no4 in a while since most down here are either sportered and asking way too much or are very very worn down and again asking too much. Maybe one day when a reasonably priced one comes around I'll snap it up.
