Since the backsight appears to have a protective cover over it, his grouping is going to be very, very poor. Even if the horse is stone-deaf! (Maybe it's a wooden horse?)

Too much time on their hands. Troops today still do stuff like that...but not with horses... 40mm Bean Bag Grenade To The Chest Like A Boss

Horse play is one thing but the guy that took the bag is a Hammer Head.
Perhaps these photos is were the term "horse play" originated?

Got to agree with you there. Just glad it wasn't my guys and I just happened to be coming by with the Sgt Major at that second...just as they fired...
I still had to laugh though, I've known guys just like that.
