A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. If anyone is ever en vacances in North Devon, there is an amphibious Booties unit at Instow. I like to watch them playing in the bay but 'Er indoors and the dogs find it boring.

Sorry not a Clarkson fan I'm afraid, another story. Good to see the Royal Navy obviously have a bigger budget then the Army and clearly avoid safety, ear defenders in use Mr Clarkson?!!!!! fingers will do it then!!

A bit macho for a REME chap like me. I prefer my manouevers to be from the back of a lorry//ARV mounted workshop with the kettle on.

There just using blanks, no harm there in not using ear defenders.

I have used blanks (and most of the time being the C9 gunner I get to use a fair bit), though I can get the point about the shorter sized SA-80 being louder.
