Marine Holding M1 Carbine
Look at this Photo, it looks like the Story was about the Carbine and not the Soldier. There's something different about his Carbine.
"A young Marine with the M1
Carbine on Guam in the Marianas, July 1944".

I will have to look up this picture on the the TV. I just read the story and the picture was directed at his Carbine. The pictures on my Tablet and my eyesight sometimes don't do well together.

Okay, I just looked it up on the Flat Screen TV. His tag is right behind the sight. What a difference with the size of the picture on the TV. I will be seeing the eye doctor next week. Looks like I will be wearing glasses or buy some cheaters. My wife just said I'm getting old.

That photo came out on the cover of the Larson book years ago. It might even be listed in the credits. It was so full of repo parts I never use it and packed it away and don't feel like finding it to check.
Maybe someone with one will look and see if it is credited.

Larson does not list photo credits, or evidently credit for other peoples work. At least that's what I read.

Wow, I never read that Book, I was browsing through WW2 pictures on Excite, and this pic popped up. What are the odds. It gave no info other than that line I wrote right above the picture.

Not carbine related, but still interesting concerning pictures!
coincedences; When in Jr. collage in the 70's. I was taking photography and in our work book I found a pic of a clock in a drivethru arch. In my pictures that I took while in the Army [in Germany
] I had the same clock! I used the neg and made a project out if it, I had the teacher stumped until he looked at the time!
