Ripped off by Numrich
Not pleased at all...
So, I needed a No. 4 magazine for my Enfield No. 4 Mark II that I recently purchased and cleaned up...it had come with a regular older magazine someone had shoved in there
Saw this advertised on Numrich-a vendor I figured would be good to deal with/honest/etc...
SMLE #4 MKI, #5 JUNGLE CARBINE, NO 4 MKII 195690 Magazine, .303 Cal., 10 Round $49.95 Buy Now
An advertised No. 4 magazine-priced accordingly (twice as much as easier to find older style mags)
The pictures show what I received.
A regular mag-ground down and painted with some cheap flat black paint over the grind marks....
"This can't be" I say to myself...maybe they just mixed up bins-or this was a fluke fake in the bin...Numrich has a great reputation...
So I called customer service...finally lady answers-I ask her is this a fluke or regular practice of Numrich...she puts me on hold to go ask a "technician"..
Comes back and says, "yes, this was purposefully sent...technician says since No. 4's are so had to find they send these. We're sorry if the ad is a bit misleading......you can send it back blah,blah,blah....."
"A bit misleading? "
I spent 50 bucks plus shipping, wasted a week waiting for it....for an outright poor fake.
Im not pleased-will be the last time I deal with Numrich...
What about the guy with a No 4 that doesnt know better? Wonder how many others they have screwed over with this deception?

I'd be upset too. Looks like a SMLE No.1 Magazine with the second tab ground off to make it fit a No.4 or 5. That might have been okay in the field during wartime (if my life depended upon it), but its not an authentic magazine. Numrich has had a good reputation, but they can be sloppy at times. I'd send it back and ask for a full refund and complain in writing to the CEO for deceptive advertising.
When it comes to mags, the price for a good condition No.4/5 mag has been climbing fast -- $50 USD is about what it takes today to get a good one -- I've seen them go for more than that on eBay. I sold one recently in really good condition and got $75, with bids from all over the world.

Yes, I don't mind paying the price-but not for a fake-ground off one. I purposefully did not order from other sights that advertised cheaper, for just that reason.

Get them to send a correct one and state if you do not get a free replacement you will go to fair trading on a count of misleading advertising.
Believe me get up and start squawking you get results as they value their reputations bad advertising by a disgruntled customer spreads like wild fire, so hopefully you may get some satisfaction from them.

Does the mag fit and stay attached to a No4 rifle, danbailey? From the pictures it doesn't even look as if it has been ground off fully flush with the side of the mag?

Flying...I have not even tried it...although I am using this enfield as a shooter-not a collector/wall hanger, I'd at least like to have a correct No. 4 mag-otherwise I would have ground off a couple cheap No 1's to get to work myself.

If you need a real one in nice shape I can sell you one for the same price (I only have 1 extra No. 4 mag.)

I had a weird Numrich experience this week too. I ordered 2 ejector springs for a pa-63. After a week, I hadn't received it, so I checked my bank account, and found that no charge had been made. I figured my order just had been lost or something. Yesterday, I got my springs. Still no charge on my card.
hmmmm
I would contact Numrich ASAP about the magazine. Give them a chance to make it right.

Still no charge on my card.
You’re lucky. I had the exact opposite experience with Numrich, charges to my card for things I didn’t buy or receive.
I wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole.

You could also try MDW Supplies here in the U.K. for a No4 mag. I obtained a refurbished/repainted one from them about a year ago and it arrived safely in good condition at a fair price.
