Additional details would be important: barrel condition and date, stock cartouche and internal parts

Redone?
At first glance it looks redone. No wear on the finish, but shiny gas cylinder. RCS is right, lots more info needed than one photo from a distance.

Wood
The wood looks sanded and refinished... note that all the corners and edges are rounded. No dings or scratches at all... that's pretty unlikely on a 70-year-old rifle.

Correct

"
I trust you are aware that there is a BIG difference between "correct" and "original" -- correct is collector jargon for a rifle with the right parts for the serial range, but they are not the original parts that were on it when it was made. That's almost always a rifle that somebody has restored. There is an equally big difference in value. IMHO $1800 would be cheap for a totally original WWII gun in that condition and quite a bit too much for a restoration (as I think this one is).

I agree with Bob about the wood at least. Still, I'd have it.
